Hola soy Damaris Escalante Rios. Tengo 22 años, nací y crecí en Chico, California. Hablo inglés y español con fluidez, y conozco un poco del lenguaje de señas estadounidense (aun estoy practicando). Me interesa la fotografía, particularmente de paisajes y candids. También hago retratos y fotos de eventos para cualquier persona interesada. Me encanta ver películas de los años 80, o sitcoms. Me gusta caminar por el bosque o hacer viajes de mochilero. Ir a playas frías me hace feliz y toco el piano cuando tengo un momento libre.

Soy adaptable al cambio y estoy abierto a aprender y adquirir nuevas experiencias. Me gusta ser organizada en mi tiempo y espacio y detallada en los proyectos y tareas asignadas. Soy amable y cortés con los que me rodean. Prefiero trabajar solo y a veces esto puede limitar mis habilidades, pero hago lo mejor que puedo para trabajar bien en grupos. Espero dar siempre lo mejor de mí misma y estar contenta con mis proyectos. Solo yo sé el esfuerzo que puse en lo que hice y mientras hice mi mejor esfuerzo, estoy satisfecha.

Espero graduarme y trabajar dos años para una agencia de diseño. Me gustaría luego obtener una Maestría en otro país, aunque todavía estoy explorando en qué área. Incluso me gustaría hacer tiempo y tomarme un año como misionera. Me encantaría ir a la India y servir allí.

Cosmovisión
Creo que hay personas genuinamente buenas que intentan marcar una diferencia positiva en el mundo. Aun así, el mundo puede ser caótico, pero todo tiene su propósito. Mis acciones vuelven a mí; sea ​​bueno o malo. Crea un efecto dominó, donde lo que hago impacta a otros, de una manera pequeña o grande. Creo que debo disfrutar cada momento que me dan, ser curioso, aventurero y feliz. También creo que hay algo más grande que mí misma. Creo en Dios, porque elegí aceptar que Él me guía a un futuro mejor en el cielo.

Hi, I’m Damaris Escalante Rios. I’m 22 years old, born and raised in Chico, California. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, and know a little bit of American Sign Language (still practicing). I’m interested in photography, particularly of landscapes and candids. I enjoy the small details that go unnoticed. I also take portraits and event photos for anyone interested. I love to watch movies from the 80’s, or sitcoms. I like to hike through the forest or go on backpacking trips. Cloud watching picnics and going to cold beaches makes me happy. I play the piano whenever I have the chance, always something peaceful and slow.

I’m adaptable to change and am open to learning and acquiring new experiences. I like being organized in my time and space and detailed in the projects and assignments given. I’m friendly and curtious to those around me. I prefer to work alone and it can limit my abilities at times, but I do my best to work well in groups. I expect of myself to always do my best and be content with my projects. Only I know the effort that I put into what I did and as long as I tried my hardest, I am satisfied.

I hope to graduate and work two years for a design agency. I would like to then get a Masters in another country, through I’m still exploring in what area. I would even like to make time and take a year as a missionary. I would love to go to India and serve there.

Worldview

I think there are genuinely good people that try to make a positive difference in the world. Even so, the world can be caotic, but everything has its purpose. My actions circle back to me; be it good or bad. It’s creates a domino effect, where what I do impacts others, in a small or big way. I believe I should enjoy every moment that I’m given, to be curious, adventurous, and happy. I also believe there is something greater that myself. I believe in God, because I chose to accept that He guides me to a better future in heaven.
